GST Registration is the mandatory process for businesses in India to obtain a unique 15-digit Goods and Services Tax Identification Number (GSTIN) from tax authorities. This registration enables businesses to legally collect and remit GST, claim input tax credits, and operate in full compliance with India's unified tax system.
Launched to combine multiple central and state taxes into a single tax, GST simplifies the tax structure and eliminates the cascading effect of taxes. Registration is essential for manufacturers, traders, service providers, e-commerce sellers, freelancers, and businesses operating across state lines.
Effective from 1st November 2025, eligible small businesses can obtain GST registration within just 3 working days through the simplified Aadhaar-authenticated process under Rule 14A.
